She looks to her next painting, and of course the future. Her life as an artist is wonderful, and very fulfilling. This led her to paint what she’s doing now - WindowScapes and RoomScapes. Although she feels that she attained success in this area, she realizes that she sometimes enjoyed painting the people, as much as the backgrounds. When she finally decided to pursue art as a career, her first ambition was to paint portraits. But she believes that there were experience’s she had as a nurse that have helped her become a better person, as well as a better painter. She became a nurse in her early twenties which took her down a different path for many years.
And along the road there were many detours. Karen says that to become a painter, it feels like it took her a long time, down a winding road. Karen obtained her Associate Degree from DeKalb College, and also studied Drawing and Painting at the Atlanta College of Art, and Portraiture Study and Nancy Honea.
